Video Game Nights

Being a casual gamer, I enjoy hosting parties and trying to ease my non-gaming friends into it. I used to play RPGs like Final Fantasy and stuff like that, but lately, haven’t had much time to get into it. (I’m in a book-reading phase, so I don’t want to interrupt that), but after hosting tons of dinners, we always shimmy over to the tv and play a little Wii and PS2. Here are some party games for the non-gamers.

Mariokart (racing)
Wii Sports (sports)
Lips (karaoke)
Singstar (karaoke)
Guitar Hero (guitar playing)
Rock Band (guitar/bass/drum/singing)
Buzz (trivia)
Scene It: Box Office Smash (movie trivia)
Wii Fit (athletics…once all the mini-games are unlocked)
-This list can continue, I just haven’t researched other games yet. These are totally basic for introducing people to-

You can easily incorporate 2-4 people in each game and just alternate turns. The slightly more hard-core you can get them, you might be able to get them to play games like Halo or Metal Gear Solid or Call of Duty, etc.

If you know you won’t play this stuff ever unless you’re entertaining, you should weigh the costs of getting it. Luckily, I can still game on occasion so even if I don’t get to touch it as often, it’s worthit for me to have it. We all have those friends who don’t play because they aren’t hard core about it. Share your “gameyness” with them 🙂
